The art of making medallions, Part II

Die casting is the next level of making medals. The process involves flowing molten metal into a mold containing the image. Zinc is the most commonly used metal in die casting because of its low melting point. The die itself can be made of polished steel, rubber or silicone rubber.

Die cast medallic are usually less expensive than die struck products since the process is simpler and uses non-precious metals. The process also produces the greatest number of pieces per hour compared to other manufacturing process., making it well-suited for larger quantities of identical pieces.

The art of making medallions, Part I

Dir striking is considered to the the premier method for making medallic products. In this process, a solid metal blank is placed in a large stamping press and a steel die containing a two or three dimensional image strikes the metal blank. The stamping press applies tons of pressure that imparts the metal with the die’s image, thus results in high relief images and sharp detail. Typically it is used by the mint to strike coins for circulation. Yet, when a really high end medallic product is needed, with exceptionally high relief, special techniques such as multiple striking along with polishing and finishing are available to enhance any image.

Typically manufacturers use precious and semi-precious materials such as gold, silver, brass and bronze to make die struck medallics.

The Art of Sandcarving

Sandcarving is the process of using high pressure and an enclosed machine to methodically “chip away” the surface of the subject, with a specific type of sand. Using a special film printed with the design, the surface of the object being carved is removed more the longer it remains exposed to the pressurized sand.

Diversity is one of the best things about sandcarving/sandblasting. Any hard surface can be sandblasted — glass, crystal, stone, marble, wood, metal and many other materials.

Champion Award Belts

A championship belt is a large, extravagantly designed belt used primarily in combat sports such as boxing, mixed martial arts & professional wrestling to signify the champions, much like a cup or trophy in other sports.

Now we can use them in the automotive or real estate market, to the league champs, hole-in-one golfer, or Fantasy team, the belts work for any market or occasion you can think of. The fun, over-the-top novelty really makes them a universal winner. The whole idea of the award belt is fairly new to the non combat industry, and our belts are the ones to be available fully customized in as few as three days with no setup. They arrive in an attractive black satin-lined presentation box or black velvet bag. The belts are big, heavy and impressive.
