Both 2D and 3D laser crystal engraving can be carried out on the laser crystals. 3D crystals are generally thicker than the 2D laser crystals so they can accommodate the depth requirement of 3D laser crystal engraving. On the other hand, thicker crystals can be used for 2D engraving as well.
In order to enable 3D laser crystal engraving, the 2D photo must first be converted to 3D via a labor-intensive manual process. A landmark, a company logo, even a human face, can be recreated in three-dimensional space.
